Regions Fincl beats by $0.01, beats on revs :
- Reports Q1 (Mar) earnings of $0.20 per share, $0.01 better than the Capital IQ Consensus of $0.19; revenues rose 5.6% year/year to $1.37 bln vs the $1.34 bln Capital IQ Consensus.
- Average loans and leases were $82 billion for the first quarter, an increase of $750 million or 1 percent. Average balances in the business lending portfolio were $51 billion during the first quarter. Net interest income and other financing income was $883 million, an increase of $27 million or 3 percent, and the resulting net interest margin was 3.19 percent.
