Rice Energy (RICE) to be acquired by EQT Corp. (EQT) for $6.7 billion

EQT Corporation acquired Rice Energy for $6.7 billion, making EQT the largest natural gas producer in the United States.

Rice Energy is an independent natural gas and oil exploration company founded in 2007 by the Rice family (Daniel Rice IV, Toby Rice, and Derek Rice) in the Appalachian Basin.

Rice Energy and EQT (EQT) acquisition confirmed for total consideration of approximately $6.7 billion (RICE) EQT will also assume or refinance approximately $1.5 billion of net debt and preferred equity.. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of  2017, subject to customary closing conditions.
