OAK BROOK, Ill. (AP) _ TreeHouse Foods Inc. (THS) on Thursday reported third-quarter profit of $28.8 million.

On a per-share basis, the Oak Brook, Illinois-based company said it had net income of 50 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 67 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of eight analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 76 cents per share.

The food maker posted revenue of $1.55 billion in the period, exceeding Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.53 billion.

TreeHouse expects full-year earnings to be $1.31 to $1.41 per share.

TreeHouse shares have fallen 8 percent since the beginning of the year. The stock has dropped 24 percent in the last 12 months.
