• Ultra Petroleum (UPL) Misses Q2 Earnings and Revenue Estimates

HOUSTON (AP) _ Ultra Petroleum Corp. (UPL) on Thursday reported a second-quarter loss of $20.6 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

The Houston-based company said it had a loss of 10 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 17 cents per share.

The independent oil and gas company posted revenue of $190.1 million in the period.

The company's shares closed at $1.69. A year ago, they were trading at $8.96.
