BackgroundFounded in 1926, Loma Negra is Argentina’s top cement, masonry cement, aggregates, concrete, and lime producer (market share around 45% at the time). It was controlled by Brazil’s InterCement (part of Camargo Correa) before the IPO. Proceeds primarily went to the parent for debt reduction, with some used for capacity expansion (e.g., the L’Amali plant).
Loma Negra C.I.A.S.A. (NYSE: LOMA; BYMA: LOMA), Argentina’s leading cement producer, completed its IPO in late October/early November 2017.
